c) Cultural and r e o ica our - the EA identifies a few historic sites <br />located i n the vicinity of the subject property, however no historic or archaeological <br />resources are known to exist within the proposed project site. The EA states on Page 6: <br />" The site will undergo a Historic Value Survey prior to acquisition to determine if an <br />archaeological or historical properties in the vicinity will undergo any si nifIcant effects due <br />to the transfer statiorf and on Page 12: ".fir the Historic Value Survey identiries any <br />resources at Site N&M Carolina rr sirs Division of <br />Archives nd Histoly, will be contacted prior to constructio n for recommendations." <br />Prior to any construction a more detailed cultural and Archaeolo ical A survq <br />of the properW should he conducted consistent with Orange Coun1y"s cultural and <br />Archaeological urvq rdin nce. C & A surveys (or Phase I Cultural Resources Surveys) <br />are conducted under the guidance of the NC Office of State Archaeology. That office <br />receives the survey flndings and provides guidance on hoer to proceed.
