It prefers <br />clean, swift Waters with stable gravel, or sand and gravel substrates. <br />HoWever0 individuals found near'the mouth 6f the Linville River In North <br />Carolina were observed in sander /silty substrate in cracks between <br />boulders along a steep. bark, in 1 to 3 fleet of water and relatively <br />510 c Trent. <br />Ufe History <br />The brook eatar is a bradytictic breeder, Gravid females have been <br />found from August through play. Identified fish, hosts include <br />blacknose dace, golden shiner; lon nose deoe, margined adtom, <br />pumpkinseed, slimy soulpirr and yellow parch (Shultz and l arbain <br />1998) <br />
