Presently the approximately 8 acre site is an
unused portion of the overall Town Operations Center complex. The Mayor made clear the
suggestion should not be considered an offer of the site as the Town Council had not formally
discussed the matter and that ultimately the Council would need to make a formal decision.
Furthermore, the Mayor indicated he would prefer the BOCC evaluate the site for its technical
suitability as a transfer station site and, if the BOCC considered the location suitable and
expressed its interest in pursuing the site further, the Town Council would address the matter.
