Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Foushee: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />At the June meeting of the Advisory Board on Aging, current applications for <br />membership to the Board vacancies were reviewed. Dr. Janice Wells, a Chapel Hill <br />resident expressed interest by attending a board meeting as a guest and the Advisory <br />Board, having reviewed her application, recommends that she be considered for <br />appointment to Position #3 requiring Town of Chapel Hill residency. <br />Dr. Wells received a BA from UNC-Greensboro, MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill and PhD. <br />from Florida State University. She has served as Assoc. Professor at Winthrop University <br />and presently as Assistant Professor at NC State University. Dr. Wells states that she is <br />especially interested in serving on the Advisory Board and in helping to create <br />opportunities for partnerships that promote healthy aging and aging in place for all <br />citizens in our community and is aware of the challenges in serving elders living on <br />limited incomes. <br />Thank you for your consideration of her appointment. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Jerry M.
