6~Y° - <br />~+ v <br />E. The Orange County Recreation Advisory Council recommends Mr. David <br />English be named to replace Mr. James Tate on this Council. <br />The Chairman stated that P4r. English and Mz. Tate were Efland resi- <br />dents. Mr. Whitted pointed out to the Board that a letter had been <br />received from Ms. Linda Gant, requesting that Cathleen Fuller be named <br />to the vacancy on the Recreation Advisory Council to represent Cheeks <br />Township. <br />Commissioner Willhoit suggested that a brief biographical sketch be <br />provided of nominates to the Council and their involvement in Recreation. <br />Mr. Walker informed the Board that the Recreation Advisory Council <br />had received a resume of Mr. English's involvement in Recreation and that <br />He is highly recommended. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Pinney, <br />it was moved and adopted that David English be named to the Recreation <br />Advisory Council to replace James Tate. <br />F. The Orange County Recreation Council recommends either Ms. <br />Priscilla Long or P4r. Giovanni Micol be named to replace Rev. William <br />Richardson on that Council. <br />G. Ms. Vickey Ward has submitted her resignation from the Orange <br />County Recreation Advisory Council. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner' Gustaveson, <br />it was moved and adopted that these two appointments to the Recreation <br />Advisory Council be tabled until additional recommendations could be secured. <br />It was further suggested that resume of experience of nominatees be sub- <br />mitted to the Commissioners when nominations are made to the Council. <br />The Clerk was instructed to forward a coAy of Ms. giant's letter and the <br />memo regarding Mr. Smith to the Recreatien Advisory Council. This item <br />will appear on the County Commissioners' agenda for the October 18th <br />meeting. <br />Item 4: Department of Transportation <br />A. Recommends that Acorn Drive in Greenview Subdivision not be <br />added to the Secondary Road System. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Whitted, <br />it was moved and adopted to acknowledge to the Department of Transportation <br />the receipt of this notice. <br />B. Recommends that Dromoland Avenue, Grove Street, and Morris Avenue <br />in Grove Heights Subdivision be added to the Secondary Road System. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted to accept the recommendation of <br />the Department of Transportation that Dromoland Avenue, Grove Street and <br />Morris Avenue be added to the Secondary Road System. <br />Item 5: The County Attorney will present a Preliminary Assessment <br />Resolution concerning the Colonial Hills Subdivision. <br />Mr. Gledhill presented to the Board a Resolution for the Financing <br />by Orange County of the Local.Share of the Cost of paving State Roads <br /># 1819, #1820,#1821, and #1822 in Colonial Hills Subdivision. .The <br />Resolution stated that the first assessment far the paving of these roads <br />would become due when 1978 property taxes are due. <br />The County Manager stated that this is subject to change since there <br />is a possibility that the paving will not take place this year. Mr. <br />Gattis was asked to contact the Department of Transportation to see when <br />the first payment to the Department of Transportation is due. <br />The Preliminary Resolution set the public hearing regarding the paving <br />of these roads for October 3, 1977, at 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioners' <br />Room of the Courthouse. The Clerk was instructed to forward copies of <br />the petition to property owners on the aforementioned State Roads. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted to approve the Preliminary Assessment <br />Resolution for the Financing by Orange County of the Local Share of the <br />
