,~ <br />Commissioner Nelson concurred with previous statements and he would support <br />putting this on the next agenda. He pointed out that the County faces a deadline to find a site <br />for the transfer station. <br />Chair Carey said to add this issue to the agenda for November 15th. The Board will <br />have to look at a proposed process and site search criteria. <br />Commissioner Gordon supports adding this to the next agenda and to include some <br />specific recommendations concerning the process for the new site search, or at least a way to <br />start the process. <br />Chair Carey invited any of the Board members to convey ideas on this process to the <br />Manager. He said that he does not want to give the perception that the County <br />Commissioners are misleading the residents. He wants to address the implications of <br />restarting the process for the outcome of the task force's work and process. <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />2. Public Comments <br />a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br />Annette Moore said that about two years ago she came to the Board when she took <br />office as President of the National Organization of Human Rights Workers. At that time, she <br />gave each of them a pin, and Chair Carey told her that he liked her shawl. At the end of her <br />term, which she just completed, she decided to bring each of County Commissioners a shawl. <br />She thanked the County Commissioners for the opportunity to represent the County in this <br />organization. <br />Chair Carey thanked Annette Moore for her work in this organization. <br />b. Resolution Recognizing Elizabeth Mason Carter for Community Service <br />The Board considered a resolution recognizing Elizabeth Mason Carter, retiring Chapel <br />Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education member, for her community service. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Foushee to <br />approve a resolution recognizing Elizabeth Mason Carter, retiring Chapel Hill- Carrboro City <br />Schools Board of Education member, for her community service. <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING ELIZABETH MASON CARTER FOR <br />COMMUNITY SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, Elizabeth Mason Carter will be retiring from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools <br />Board of Education; and, <br />WHEREAS, she has served over 13 years as a school board member which included <br />leadership roles as chair and vice-chair; and, <br />
