Commissioner Halkiotis recognized Commissioner Brown's contributions in this area. <br />There are significant challenges ahead that Commissioner Brown has been giving attention to <br />over the years. Commissioner Gordon and Commissioner Carey echoed these sentiments. <br />Commissioner Carey asked if this means that the LME can contract with OPC for area <br />services after the end of the fiscal year. Assistant County Manager Gwen Harvey said that this <br />is just a technical clarification and this amendment will allow OPC and the LME to act <br />simultaneously. A lot of the important questions are yet to be answered by the new governing <br />body of the LME. The business plan extends beyond the one year. The first year is for <br />transition purposes only. <br />John Link pointed out that there is flexibility in the amount of time for transition. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />approve the resolution, which is incorporated by reference, that amends the Interlocal <br />Cooperation Agreement (ICA) that established the three-county public entity to serve as the <br />Local Management Entity (LME) for ensuring mental health, developmental disability, and <br />substance abuse services (MH/DD/SA) in the Orange, Person, and Chatham Counties <br />catchment area. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />7.
