Tax Lien Sales held June 6, 1977 and <br />B. Tax Collector's Settlement on June 30, 1977. <br />The agenda attachment II certified that Ortense G. Dickson, Orange <br />County Tax Collector, authorized a sale of Tax Liens for 1976 and that <br />said sale was held on Monday, June 6, 1977 at 12 o'clock noon at the - - <br />Courthouse with Orange County being sole purchaser of all Tax Liens for <br />the amount shown plus interest and cost to the date of sale, with the <br />exception of two tax liens sold to private purchasers as listed below: --- <br />Cheeks Twp. Most of the owners of this pro- <br />perty had left Orange County before these assessments were made." <br />.The Manager recommends the Collector's Settlement be accented subject <br />to confirmation by the County Audit, now in process. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner G1Alker, <br />it was moved and adopted to accept the max Collector's Settlement subject <br />to confirmation by the County Auditors. <br />Item 8: The County Attorney wi17. propose a lease for office space <br />to house the data processing anc~ other County agencies. <br />The County Manager stated that t1~is item should not have appeared on <br />the agenda, as the Commissioners have already approved the lease of space <br />for the Data Processing Department. <br />Item 9: The Manager will report the results of bid openings for: <br />A. Office Equipment a <br />The County Manager stated that General Statutes require that the <br />results of bid openings be reported to the County Commissioners. <br />(For copy of the results of bid openings see page 345' of this book) <br />The Finance Officer informed the Board that the result of the bids <br />needed to be studied further before a recommendation is made to the Board. <br />B. Chairman Whitted stated.the next item for consideration was a re- <br />poxt of the bid opening results for Data Processing Eauiprtent. The agenda <br />attachment stated that in early June, the County submitted specifications <br />for an in-house computer system that would function in an on-line envizon- <br />ment and the interactive mode to fifteen vendors of computer hardware and <br />software. The system requested will enable the users (Register of Deeds, <br />Board of Elections, Finanace or Tax Department, etc.) to crease their own <br />data file (records) and to alter this file as transactions occur.
