A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Carey to go into <br />closed session "To consult with an attorney retained by the Board in order to preserve the attorney- <br />client privilege between the attorney and the Board," pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3) in the case of <br />Orange County versus Nuclear Regulatory Commission. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />The Board was to go into closed session to discuss the County's position and to instruct the <br />County Manager and County Attorney on the negotiating position regarding the terms of a contract to <br />purchase real property," NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(5). <br />However, this item was postponed. <br />14. ADJOURNMENT <br />With no further items for the Board to consider a motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, <br />seconded by Commissioner Carey to adjourn the meeting at 10:35 p.m. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />The next meeting scheduled is a Special Meeting on March 20, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at the Southern <br />Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. <br />Chair Barry Jacobs <br />Beverly A.
