During the summer, a work team <br />of staff members developed a report that which describes a proposed mission, <br />tasks and resource needs of the ERCD. <br />The Board reviewed this report on October 6 and October 20, and agreed to hold a <br />public hearing on November 4 to receive citizen comment. A total of 20 persons <br />spoke at the November 4 public hearing, with 10 persons speaking in favor of the <br />proposal and five in opposition. Five citizens asked questions and provided <br />comment without expressing an opinion. <br />To address the comments at the hearing, staff and Commissioner Gordon have <br />met with the Economic Development Commission, Commission for the <br />Environment and Agricultural Districts Advisory Board to clarify the proposal <br />and answer questions.
