~:. <br />Hill's representative to the County EMS Council. <br />B. The position of first alternate on the Orange County Board of <br />Adjustment is vacant. <br />Commissioner Pinney asked that he be excused to make a telephone <br />call to inquire if a certain party would be willing to serve in this <br />capacity. <br />C. The term of Commissioner Walker has expired on the County Board <br />of Social Services. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner - <br />[aillhoit, it was moved that Commissioner Pinney be named by acclamation <br />to the Social Services Board. <br />D. One County Commissioner should be named to the Board of Directors <br />of JANUS HOUSE. <br />Commissioner Pinney stated that he would like to inquire further into <br />the requirment of this appointment. This appointment was deferred. <br />E. The terms of David McFarland and Lucien Sellet, as County Appointees <br />to the Chapel Hill Board of Adjustments have expired. <br />The Clerk was requested to inquire as to whether or not Mr. McFarland <br />and Ms. Sellet would be willing to serve in this capacity for another term, <br />This item was deferred. <br />ztem 8: The County Recreation Advisory Council has requested a meeting <br />with the Board of County Commissioners to discuss long range goals and <br />planning. <br />Chairman Whitted referred to Itme 11: Plats for Consideration. <br />Chairman Whitted introduced Chris Edwards, a member of the Planning Staff. <br />Mr. Edwards referred to the final plat of Sedgefield. <br />?'his property is grapased to be dived into five sections totaling <br />111 lots. The land is located on Weaver Dairy Road and will be served by <br />this road. Storm water and utility easements needed are shown on the plat. <br />All lots do conform to set back requirements. This plat was approved by <br />the Planning Board on the condition that all lots perk according to Health <br />Department requirements. This will be started in July, 1977. The developer <br />states that if some lots do not perk, those lots will be conbined. He <br />stated that the proposed I-90, Alternate LA would ao directly through this <br />subdivision, and if this alternate is accepted, the project will be abandoned. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br />it was moved and adopted to approve the final plat of Sedgefireld with the <br />condition that all 7.ots perk according to Health Department standards. <br />A. Springhill Forest: This proposal is to split a 58 acre tract into <br />14 lots served by a public road. This property lies off Jones Ferro Road. <br />Mr. Edwards informed the Board that an agreement had been worked out between <br />the developer and the Sedimentation Erosion Control Officer, This plat was <br />approved .on the condition that a 100 foot set back from the creek be observed <br />on Lots 1, 2, 3, and 14, and that Lots 1 and 14 use the interior road for <br />access. <br />a <br />Commissioner Gustaveson cuestioned the building site on lot 1. Mr. <br />Edwards stated that sufficient room was available for building on lot 1. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Whitted, <br />it was moved and adopted to approve the final plat for Springhill Forest. <br />C. ~7ackson Property - Final Plat. This proposes the division of a <br />tract into 60 lots of 5 to 10 acres each with two "Class C" interior roads <br />serving the lots not served by St. Mary's Road. The conditions on the <br />Preliminary Plan included a 100 foot set back for all lots crossed by Buck <br />Quarter Creek and Lots 1, 5, 16, and 15 use the private roads for access. <br />Each lot must observe 100 foot set back requirements. <br />
