8 <br />PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA <br />1. Matching In -kind Contributions: <br />The Town's role in the Project will be to: <br />provide fleet garage space for the EV conversions; <br />• demonstrate the use of EV's to the regional community; and <br />respond to requests for information from other Towns. $ dollar value <br />undetermined <br />We are committed to seeking matching funds from public and private sources to augment <br />this grant. Following are the in -kind contributions we expect: <br />• Instruction /consultants: Duke Power <br />(to be confirmed) $ 2,500 <br />• Donation of small truck and small car suitable for conversion 2,000 <br />• Work assistance: Matt Hamlett (Orange High); <br />David Ronco (Durham Tech); Joe Capowski (Electrical <br />Engineer serving on tlu%Chapel Hill Town Council) 2,500 <br />• Grant Proposal and Services,_ 500 <br />• Preparation of video (see budget for <br />editing and final production of video(s)) 2,500 <br />M Town will prepare informational videos for various audiences <br />if sufcient volunteer time is available. <br />$ 10,000+ <br />2. Degree of actual emission reduction: <br />EV's, which have no exhaust or tailpipe, reduce emissions by 100 percent. The current <br />average combustion engine emissions for the Town fleet are: <br />Hydrocarbons 25 ^5 parts per million; Carbon monoxide percentage 12.6 % <br />.. <br />
