TOWN OF CARRBORO <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />4 <br />The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Milliard Caldwell and duly seconded <br />by Alderman Allen Spalt. <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF CARRBORO <br />TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE NORTH CAROLINA <br />DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES, DIVISION OF <br />AIR QUALITY TO OBTAIN AND CONVERT TWO (2) TOWN VEHICLES <br />TO ELECTRIC POWER <br />Resolution No. 18/97 -98 <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Canboro understands the need to improve air quality <br />and reduce air pollution from cars and other motor vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Canboro seeks to raise public consciousness of the <br />value of alternative fueled vehicles. <br />NOW, REFORE, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF <br />CARRBORO RESOLVES: <br />Section 1. The Board bf Aldermen hereby directs Town staff to submit a grant <br />application to the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, <br />Division of Air Quality for fud g to convert two (2) town vehicles to electric power. <br />Section 2.
