FY 1999-2000 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROPOSED GOAL <br />04/09/99 <br />Ulu,' <br />.0 <br />-rR 3 <br />Wl <br />-A xi-n -3 52ST <br />OBJECTIVE 2 — Preserve and protect visual resources in Rural Orange. <br />Farm fields, forests, creeks, low density housing and rural roadscapes are resources that invoke the 'feel' of the countryside. Development <br />should be designed in a manner to protect or recreate the valuable rural visual resources of the county. <br />OBJECTIVE 2A-. Increase roadside buffers on collector roads and create roadside buffers on local roads to improve rural streetscape and <br />develop new native landscape material guidelines for buffer plantings. <br />DATE <br />TASKS/MILESTONES <br />TARGET FOR <br />ADOPTED <br />COMPLETION <br />BYBOCC <br />Examine existing ordinances and note where buffers -are not required. <br />Sept 99 <br />Develop new rural roadside buffers to recreate rural landscape screening using native trees and shrubs <br />Oct 99 <br />with use of intermittent wood fencing to augment the screen during the initial landscape growth <br />period. <br />
