�a <br />T <br />PLAN OF ACTION - EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br />ADOPTED MILESTONES <br />REVISED MILESTONES <br />Tasks <br />Completion Date <br />Tasks <br />Completion Date <br />OBJECTIVE: To develop a written plan approved by the Board of Health for responding to a variety of public health emergencies, such as <br />disease outbreaks, environmental hazards and natural disasters. <br />Form OCHD core staff response team that will be <br />July 1998 <br />responsible for developing the plan. <br />Develop a list of typical response scenarios and <br />March 1999 <br />develop specific plans for each type, e.g. foodborne <br />outbreaks, waterborne outbreaks, communicable <br />disease, STD outbreak, natural disasters, lead <br />contamination in buildings, etc. <br />Develop a general response plan that includes <br />March 1999 <br />increasing levels of involvement from related county <br />agencies, depending on each. situation. Include EMS, <br />DSS, OWASA, and others in reviewing the plan. <br />Develop a general media plan for response and <br />March 1999 <br />specific "soundbites" for each scenario. <br />Develop education plan for county agencies and <br />April 1999 <br />private providers on OCHD response plans. <br />Develop outreach and educational plan for <br />April 1999 <br />preventing outbreak situations. <br />Present entire plan to BOH for adoption. <br />May 1999 <br />Plan and coordinate a mock response drill with all <br />September 1999 <br />related agencies. <br />Develop ongoing systems for revision of plans and <br />October 1999 <br />communication with relevant parties, including alerts <br />on potential outbreaks. <br />
