HAYWOOD (1911 -1985) <br />EMERY B. DENNY, JR. (1924 -1982) <br />The prior chair asked that the chairs of all the citizens advisory panels provide to the Board <br />their goals for the coming year. At a meeting this past fall, the CATV Committee met and <br />discussed its goals. The two goals we set for -1999 are to complete the re- franchising with Time <br />Warner and to complete the steps necessary to advise the county and the Commissioners on <br />equipping meeting rooms for cable casting the Commissioner's meetings. <br />I am aware from the November meeting that the Commissioners have expressed various <br />concerns about the cable casting proposals and that this matter will be on your agenda for the <br />retreat to be held in January. I would be more than happy to attend the retreat to discuss matters <br />further with the Commissioners. <br />Finally, the Committee would welcome your input at the retreat or in any other forum on <br />these two issues. At the present time I believe the committee's work on the cable casting issue is at <br />a standstill until the Commissioners are able to give us greater guidance about goals to pursue in <br />this area. <br />I look forward to seeing you in the near future. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />Cl�ael W.
