They <br />will do partial paving where they cannot get all the right-of-way. With <br />regard to Lee's Chapel Road, they are still working with two property <br />owners and feel they will get the right-of-way or do a partial paving. <br />They have used the same allocation figures for next year that they used <br />this year. That will be adjusted after July 1 when they know the exact <br />allocation. With regards to Eubanks Road, Mr. Watkins said that it is <br />presently under construction. Tuscarora Drive will be under construction <br />as soon as the waterline construction is completed. In answer to a <br />question from Commissioner Crowther about the alignment of Baldwin and <br />Lawrence Roads, Mr. Watkins said that this will either be aligned or two <br />separate roads. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPEN FOR CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Mr. Lloyd Wynn asked about Green Riley Road and was told that it is on <br />this years program. He also asked about Sneed Drive and was told that <br />they cannot get the right-of-way. He will give him a copy of their <br />rating sheet. <br />Commissioner Crowther asked about Moorefields Road and was told that <br />they are going to pave all except the road in front of Moorefields. <br />Everyone is okay with that decision and they can pave 95~ of the road. <br />Barry Jacobs, Caretaker of Moorefields, thanked DOT for being <br />responsive to his request to not pave in front of Moorefields. They will <br />pave 1.4 miles up to Moorefields and leave the remainder unpaved. <br />Chair Carey, Jr. thanked the Department of Transportation for <br />contributing toward the improvements of the NC86-NC57 intersection. They <br />still need some money to complete that project and will contact their <br />legislators to ask for discretionary funds. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Chair Carey, Jr. <br />to approve the proposed North Carolina Department of Transportation 1995- <br />96 Secondary Road Improvement Program as presented in the agenda. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />VIII.
