APPROVED JUNE 5, 1995 <br />1 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />April 18, 1995 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br />Tuesday, April 18, 1995 at 7:30 p.m. in the OWASA community meeting <br />room, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, North Carolina. <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey, Jr., and Commissioners <br />William L. Crowther, Alice M. Gordon, Stephen H. Halkiotis and Don <br />Willhoit <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Doug Thoren <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., and <br />Assistant County Managers Albert Kittrell and Rod Visser, Clerk to the <br />Board Beverly A. Blythe (Other staff members are listed as appropriate) <br />NOTE: All documents referred to in the minutes are in the permanent <br />agenda file in the Clerk's Office. All ordinance amendments are in the <br />ordinance book in the Commissioners' Library. <br />I. ADDITIONS OR CHANGES TO THE AGENDA <br />Chair Carey deleted from the Consent Agenda the minutes for February <br />21, 1995. <br />II. AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br />A. MATTERS ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br />Chair Carey said that citizens who want to speak on an item on <br />the printed agenda will be recognized at the appropriate time. <br />8. MATTERS NOT ON THE PRINTED AGENDA - NONE <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />Chair Carey dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />III. BOARD COMMENTS - NONE <br />IV. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />John Link announced that the wife of the Department on Aging <br />Director. Jerry Passmore passed away on Sunday. On behalf of staff, he <br />extended his deepest sympathy. <br />V. RESOLUTIONS/PROCLAMATIONS <br />A. Request to Orange County Legislative Delegation for Amendments <br />to the Civil Ri is Ordinance Enablinct Legislation Authorizing <br />Deferral Aaencv Amendments <br />Acting County Attorney Doug Thoren asked that the Board <br />consider a resolution requesting the Orange County legislative <br />delegation to amend the Orange County omnibus local bill to the 1995 <br />
