OCIT will work with the County Managers' <br /> office to implement a formal request tracking system. <br /> Applicant Tracking System Upgrade <br /> The Personnel department still relies heavily on page based (some paper, some <br /> electronic) methods for advertising job openings and processing applications. <br /> OCIT will work closely with the Personnel office to integrate a new system into <br /> existing processes and technologies <br /> EMS Communication System <br /> As the EMS organization moves forward with its pursuit of a holistic <br /> communications system, OCIT will work closely to ensure electronic data <br /> sharing is a strong consideration for any system. The County has historically <br /> viewed such communication systems as voiced-based. However, with voice <br /> moving toward a data model, the distinctions between voice and data have <br /> become irrelevant. OCIT will work to ensure the investigation evaluates the <br /> broad spectrum of communication needs. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier made reference to software in some departments that are not <br /> well supported, and said that the last two pages describe automation of the departments <br /> where there will be lots of paperwork. She asked if there are departments that need software <br /> replaced that are not on the list. <br /> Todd Jones said that some of them are there but not directly stated. <br /> Commissioner Nelson asked for information on priorities and categorizing them in a <br /> three- or five-year plan. Laura Blackmon pointed out that the last two pages have a priority list. <br /> She said that there has been difficulty in adding new technology because there is no staff to <br /> support it. The goal has been to move toward a more automated system. <br /> Commissioner Nelson agreed about upgrading the website because nothing can be <br /> done online on the Orange County website at this time. He thinks that this makes Orange <br /> County look bad. <br /> Commissioner Gordon said that she saw a list of needs but did not get a sense of what <br /> the plan and the overall costs were. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said that this is more like a laundry list than a strategic plan. He <br /> said that the list of expenditures for ten years is almost $7 million. He also sees no fiscal <br /> constraint in this plan. <br />
