11'evIsed 2/3/09 2 <br /> Abstract and Selected Pages <br /> 2. General Operational Funds from State — appropriation of State funds of $8,736 to <br /> support the general operation of the Seymour and Central Orange Senior Centers. <br /> These funds will assist with temporary personnel costs for center activities and special <br /> events. This award requires a 25% County match of $2,980, which is currently <br /> budgeted in the Community-Based Services Division. <br /> 3. Frail Elderly. — donated funds totaling $1,500 for the Eldercare Division's Frail Elderly <br /> Program. These funds will assist at-risk older adults in maintaining their independent <br /> living. <br /> 4. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention— additional state funds of $2,797 to purchase <br /> screening supplies for senior center clinic events. <br /> 5. Community Based Services — additional senior center class fees funds totaling $20,000 <br /> to cover class instructors and purchase fitness supplies for the Seymour Center Fitness <br /> Studio. <br /> 6. Community Resources Guide — charges totaling $2,900 from the sale of advertisements <br /> in the Aging Transitions Community Resource Guide distributed by the Eldercare <br /> Division. These funds will be used to print additional copies of the guide. <br /> (See Attachment 1, column #1 and Attachment 3, Senior Citizen Health Promotion <br /> Program Grant Project Ordinance) <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 7. The Department of Social Services has received notification of additional Adoption <br /> Enhancement Fund donations: <br /> • Foster Care Donations — donations totaling $2,338 to offset costs for the on-going <br /> needs of foster care children. <br /> • General Assistance Donations — donations totaling $12,119 to aid special-needs <br /> clients, including senior citizens. <br /> (These funds are set aside in a special Adoption Enhancement Fund, which is outside of <br /> the General Fund) <br /> 8. The Department of Social Services has received notification of additional State funds for <br /> the following programs: <br /> • Energy Administration Program — receipt of$15,555 from the Low Income Home <br /> Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Block Grant to purchase supplies for the <br /> program. <br /> • Crisis Intervention Program — receipt of $201,586 to provide for the heating needs <br /> of Orange County residents in crisis. <br /> (See Attachment 1, column #2) <br /> Public, Educational and Government(PEG) Channels <br />
