~~~ Commissioner Willhoit submitted the names of Dr. Cecil Sheps of Chapel Hill Township and Morris Shiffman of Chapel Hi11 Township. ship Commissioner Pinney submitted the name of Ruth Cooper of Eno Town- Commissioner Whined submitted the names of James Boyd of Eno Township and Betsy McAdoo from Cheeks Township. Commissioner Gustaveson submitted the names of Nancy Coleman from Cedar Grove Township and Kethy Parker from Chapel Hill Township. Commissioner Walker submitted the name of Josephine Barbour from Eno Township. The Board discussed these names, stating the townships where each resided, their six, race, and health related experience. Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, the nominations were closed. The Board agreed that each member of the Board would vote for five of the eight submitted names. The Chairman called for the vote. Nancy Coleman received four votes, Ruth Cooper received three votes, James Boyd received three votes,. Betsy McAdoo received three votes,~.and Kathy Parker received four votes. These persons, having received the largest number of votes were appointed to the Interim Health Board. The first meeting of the Interim Health Board was scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 1977, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners' Room of the Courthouse. A work session between the Commissioners and the Health Board was scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 1977, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners' Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough. The Chairman referred to Item 6: Commissioner Norman Walker desires to vacate his seat on the County Board of Social Services. The Chairman stated that he would like to have a re-look at all the Boards each of the Commissioners serve on. He asked the Clerk to prepare a list of the Boards and its members and that this discussion be an agenda item at a later time. Commissioner Walker was requested to continue sex'ving on the Social Service Board until a thorough look could be taken at all the County's Boards. Chairman Whined referred to Item 8: Request for funding from the CRIB Agency. The Finance Officer informed the Board that he had examinated the Accounting Books of the CRIB Agencies and the books appeared to be adequate. CRIB will need $1,000 per month until the end of the fiscal year, plus an additional $40D which they have indicated will come from another source. He added that CRIB would need a permanent funding source for the coming year . ~. Commissioner Gustaveson stated that'~.he was concerned about the CRIB budget decision for next year and about the program going under. Marilyn Tyroler informed the Board of other possible funding sources. She added that if the County Commissioners could provide some slight match, tkie program could be kept going. Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, it was moved and adopted to appropriate $1,000 per month ($3000) until the end of June, 1977, to the CRIB Program. Commissioner Pinney stressed the need for the CRIB Administration to seek other funding sources within the next three months. (For copy of CRIB budget amendment, see page 137 of this book.)
