~~~ <br />Commissioner Willhoit submitted the names of Dr. Cecil Sheps of <br />Chapel Hill Township and Morris Shiffman of Chapel Hi11 Township. <br />ship <br />Commissioner Pinney submitted the name of Ruth Cooper of Eno Town- <br />Commissioner Whined submitted the names of James Boyd of Eno <br />Township and Betsy McAdoo from Cheeks Township. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson submitted the names of Nancy Coleman from <br />Cedar Grove Township and Kethy Parker from Chapel Hill Township. <br />Commissioner Walker submitted the name of Josephine Barbour from <br />Eno Township. <br />The Board discussed these names, stating the townships where each <br />resided, their six, race, and health related experience. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Willhoit, the nominations were closed. <br />The Board agreed that each member of the Board would vote for five <br />of the eight submitted names. The Chairman called for the vote. <br />Nancy Coleman received four votes, Ruth Cooper received three votes, <br />James Boyd received three votes,. Betsy McAdoo received three votes,~.and <br />Kathy Parker received four votes. These persons, having received the <br />largest number of votes were appointed to the Interim Health Board. <br />The first meeting of the Interim Health Board was scheduled for <br />Tuesday, March 22, 1977, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners' Room of <br />the Courthouse. <br />A work session between the Commissioners and the Health Board was <br />scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 1977, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners' <br />Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />The Chairman referred to Item 6: Commissioner Norman Walker desires <br />to vacate his seat on the County Board of Social Services. <br />The Chairman stated that he would like to have a re-look at all the <br />Boards each of the Commissioners serve on. He asked the Clerk to prepare <br />a list of the Boards and its members and that this discussion be an agenda <br />item at a later time. <br />Commissioner Walker was requested to continue sex'ving on the Social <br />Service Board until a thorough look could be taken at all the County's <br />Boards. <br />Chairman Whined referred to Item 8: Request for funding from the <br />CRIB Agency. <br />The Finance Officer informed the Board that he had examinated the <br />Accounting Books of the CRIB Agencies and the books appeared to be adequate. <br />CRIB will need $1,000 per month until the end of the fiscal year, plus <br />an additional $40D which they have indicated will come from another source. <br />He added that CRIB would need a permanent funding source for the coming <br />year . ~. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson stated that'~.he was concerned about the CRIB <br />budget decision for next year and about the program going under. <br />Marilyn Tyroler informed the Board of other possible funding sources. <br />She added that if the County Commissioners could provide some slight <br />match, tkie program could be kept going. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, <br />it was moved and adopted to appropriate $1,000 per month ($3000) until the <br />end of June, 1977, to the CRIB Program. <br />Commissioner Pinney stressed the need for the CRIB Administration to <br />seek other funding sources within the next three months. <br />(For copy of CRIB budget amendment, see page 137 of this book.) <br />
