~ti2
Commissioner Gustaveson seconded the motion.
Voting aye on the motion were Commissioners Gustaveson, Pinney, Walker
and Willhoit. Commissioner Whitted voted nay.
The motion was declared passed.
Discussion ensued concerning the continued approval of subdivisions
that might affect the watershed of University Lake and Cane Creek.
Upon motion of Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner
Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted to request the developer to consider
re-aligning the lots near the road to xeflect.the Board's concern with
the potential expansion of University Lake.
Mr. Edwards asked that the plat for Brookview be reapproved for a
time extension. Commissioner Willhoit asked if septic tanks would be
used on these lots, and Mr. Edwards replied "yes". Discussion ensued.
Commissioner Pinney moved that the Brookview Final Plat be reapproved.
Commissioner Whitted seconded the motion. Voting aye were Commissioners
Gustaveson, Pinney, Walker and Whitted. Voting nay was Commissioner Willhoit.
The motion was declared passed.
Hunter's Ridge plat was submitted for reapproval. Mr. Edwards stated
that bond for the road was not obtained in time and therefore the plat
needed reapproval.
Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Walker,
it was moved and adopted that Hunter's Ridge plat be reapproved.
The next item was Item 15: Review of the Section Eight Program.
The County Manager stated that the Chapel Hill Housing Authority was
administering the Section Eight Housing Program which was negotiated in
May or June of last year. The program actually did not begin until
October, ].976, and was for a one year duration. If the contract is to be
renewed, and if June 30, 1977 is the expiration date, some work should be
started now. If the contract is for a one year period, then October will
be the time for a negotiation.
Discussion ensued. The Board agzeed that the expiration date should
be June 30, 1977. The County Manager suggested that the Section Eight
Coordinating Committee discuss this at their next Board meeting of March
24, 1977.
The Board decided to discuss the interim Health Board on March 15, 1977.
Mr. Whitted informed the Berard of a fact finding meeting with area
farmers to talk about zoning and the subdivision Ordinance. This meeting
is scheduled for Thursday, March 10, 1977, at the Courthouse.
The Social Services staff has invited the Commissioners to attend a
staff meeting on Tuesday, March 8, 1977, at 10:00 a.m. at the Social Services
Building.
The meeting was then adjourned.
~ ~? ~
ichar Whi 'ted,' C {airman
Agatha Johnson, Clerk
