(iii)the animals must be adequately <br />protected from the elements, including <br />heat and old. <br />(iv) the animals must be adequately protected <br />from one another. <br />c. Only animals of the same species shall be <br />transported in the same enclosure. Puppies <br />and kittens under six (6) months of age shall <br />not be transported in the same enclosure with <br />adult animals, other than their mother. <br />d. Each enclosure used to transport animals <br />shall be large enough for each animal to <br />stand erect, sit, turn about freely and lie <br />down in a normal position. <br />e. Animals shall not be placed in enclosures <br />over other animals while being transported <br />unless each enclosure is so constructed to <br />prevent animal excreta from entering the <br />other enclosures. <br />f. All enclosures used to transport animals <br />shall be disinfected after each use and as <br />needed. <br />4. Care in Transit: <br />a. The attendant or driver shall be responsible <br />for inspecting the animals frequently enough <br />to assure the health and comfort of the <br />animals and to determine if emergency care is <br />needed and to obtain said emergency care if <br />needed. <br />b. If any animal is in a vehicle for more than <br />three (3) hours, it shall be provided fresh, <br />drinkable water, and food as appropriate. <br />c. Each animal in transit shall have a tag <br />affixed to its collar of a type approved by <br />the United States Department of Agriculture. <br />3.
