Section 15 -165 (Odors) is repealed and replaced with a new Section 15 -165 to read as <br />follows: <br />Section 15 -165 Ground Water Supply. <br />(a) All outdoor storage facilities for fuel, chemical, or industrial wasters, and potentially harmful <br />raw materials, shall be located on impervious pavement, and shall be completely enclosed by an impervious <br />dike high enough to contain the total volume of liquid kept in the storage area, plus the accumulated rainfall <br />of a fifty (50) year storm. This requirement is intended to prevent harmful materials from spilling and <br />seeping into the ground, contaminating the groundwater. <br />(b) Non - corrosive storage tanks for heating oil and diesel fuel, not exceeding two hundred <br />seventy five (275) gallons in size, may be exempted from the requirements of this section provided that there <br />is no seasonal high water table within four (4) feet of the surface, and that rapidly - permeable sandy soils are <br />not present. <br />SECTION 14. Section 15 -243 (Excessive Illumination) is rewritten to read as follows: <br />Section 15 -243 Excessive Illumination. <br />(a) Outdoor lighting (not including sign lighting) shall be controlled in both height and intensity <br />as provided in this section. <br />(b) No development shall be permitted to produce a strong light or reflection of that light beyond <br />its lot lines onto neighboring properties, or onto any street so as to impair the vision of the driver of any <br />vehicle upon such street. <br />(c) Light fixtures may not exceed fifteen (15) feet in height, and luminaries shall be shielded or <br />configured to cast the light downward and to prevent light from shining beyond the lot lines into neighboring <br />properties or public ways. The permit issuing authority may by condition impose additional requirements as <br />necessary to prevent adverse impacts to adjoining properties and residents. <br />(d) Under no circumstances may the light level at the lot line exceed 0.2 foot - candles, measured <br />at ground level. <br />SECTION 1 S.
