17 <br />Page 4 <br />Goal #VI-Coordination <br />Provide support and a statewide framework for historic resources and local preservation <br />programs. <br />Objectives: <br />A. Provide .opportunities for preservation, conservation/environmental, educational, and other <br />interested or affected agencies, organizations, or individuals to build partnerships and <br />communication. <br />B. Foster communication among local preservation commissions to exchange information and <br />strengthen their role in local planning and preservation issues. <br />C. Facilitate coordination among local, state, and federal government agencies in preservation <br />and in community and economic development. <br />D. Support the advocacy efforts of historic preservation and archaeological organizations and <br />revolving funds. <br />E. Foster a multicultural approach to preservation that encourages alliances across racial and <br />class lines. <br />F. Recommend statewide policies and priorities for the expenditure of public funds to include <br />historic properties and preservation. <br />G. Maintain a professionally staffed and adequately funded HPO within the DCR to <br />administer the state's historic preservation program. <br />H.
