It began operation on January 4, <br />1999. As part of the proposal to create the new department, two new <br />positions were planned: an administrative assistant and a natural <br />resource conservation manager. This abstract addresses the <br />Administrative Assistant position. Staff will return in February with the <br />proposal to establish the natural resource conservation manager <br />position. <br />The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical <br />support to the new ERCD department. In addition, the Administrative <br />Assistant will provide administrative support to five advisory boards <br />(Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, <br />Shaping Orange County's Future Task Force, Water Resources <br />
