s <br />1998-99 Grassroots Grants Recipients <br />In Order of Acceptance <br />The Orange County Arts Commission, as an approved Designated County Partner (DCP), sub grants Grassroots Grants to local .arts organizations <br />from funding provided by the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program. Funds are. distributed for arts programming that reflects the <br />racial and cultural diversity of the county. Each organization receiving a Grassroots Grant matches the grant amount with local dollars in order to <br />receive an award. <br />Ken Moore is accepting the awa~•d for The Botanical Garden Foundation, Inc. for the Sculptural Art Exhibition in the amount of $1000.00. <br />Bonnie Whitehead is accepting the award for The Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission for the purchase of a display case for 3-D items in the <br />amount of $1500.00 <br />Bill Hannah is accepting the award for The Community Youth Theatre for a summer drama program in the amount of $1000.00. <br />Bob Joesting is accepting the award for The Orange County Cultural Arts Group for a community based. cultural arts festival in the amount <br />of $1500.00 <br />Also receiving awards but unable to attend are <br />The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools PTSA Cultural Enrichment Committee for "Tarheel Talent in our Schools," <br />performances/residencies in the 13 schools of the system, in the amount of $5,200.00. <br />The Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation for the American Indian Cultural Festival in the amount of $1750.00. <br />Women's Voices, Inc. for Women's Community Chorus in the amount of $850.00. <br />
