3 <br />C~LEBRATiON Celebration 2000 <br />•~• <br />2000 <br /> What it is <br /> Habitat for Humanity has planned a meaningful way to celebrate the <br />HABITAT FOR HUMANITY beginning of a new millennium. We will build a new eleven home sub- <br />C4U1PEl Hll1•CARRBORO.ORANGECOl1NiY division in New Homestead Place off Rogers Road in Chapel Hill. This <br /> initiative will provide a stimulus for community involvement to create <br /> affordable housing; educate and increase awareness about poverty hous- <br /> ing and its causes; offer "a hand-up" to eleven working Orange County <br />Advisory Board families; and bring all members of Orange County together to build com- <br />• munity and new relationships for the future. <br />David Anna ' <br /> PaI'tne/Ships <br />Roger Bernholz <br />: Groups of volunteers who join together to raise funds and construct <br />Joal Broun houses are called partnerships. We need eleven new partnerships to <br /> accomplish this celebration. Habitat will reach out to include groups from <br />Margaret Brown : all segments of the community to form these diverse partnerships. Ex- <br /> amples may include African-American and white churches; University of <br />Jay Bryan : North Carolina employees, students and town's people working together; <br />• or civic groups, businesses and municipal employees.
