The major <br />group headings used by the BOCC to organize the discussion included: <br />• Communications <br />• Innovation & Efficiency <br />• Impacts of Growth & Development <br />• Open Space/Recreation & Parks <br />• Rural Character Preservation <br />• Education - Equitable & Effective Funding <br />• Public safety Issues - Nuclear Waste <br />• District Elections <br />• Other- (e.g.Firearms, Human Services, Y2K) <br />Communications- News Team & Other Public Information Efforts <br />- Customer survey card - Forward info to Board of County Commissioners <br />-Let people know what getting for $$ <br />-Field way through bureaucracy <br />- Specific # to call for Board of Commissioners; citizen response line (facilitate responses <br />to citizens) <br />- County Commissioners #'s as options when dialing in to government <br />-Why news releases are not being used effectively (Better use of.. ) <br />- Website- make more interactive <br />-Youth Council- develop. website for youth issues <br />- Increase involvement of students in County Government <br />- Bumper Stickers <br />-After Hours # <br />- Public Knows @ County Government & gain input <br />-Board of Commissioners on TV <br />- Responsibility -Keep w /in BOCC & Manager's Office <br />-Board of Commissioners info to website w/o going through IS <br />-Buck- `reporter' during Agenda reviews <br />- Guide for citizens to County Processes <br />- Develop options to communicate more effectively (flesh out goal) <br />
