Fikes <br />Work Specifications TELEPHONE NUMBERS: - -eat. 2490 <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: <br />To award one housing rehabilitation contract for the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Program. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids from qualified housing <br />rehabilitation contractors participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed <br />bids were solicited from participating contractors on January 28, 1998 and February 4, 1999. The <br />informal bidding process is governed by the North Carolina General Statues §143-131 and does not <br />require a minimum number of bids. Bid results are attached. Present program procedures provide <br />that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />The Manager recommends awarding the following housing rehabilitation contracts: <br />Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br />Council - 106 Glosson Circle, Carrboro $23,380 Taylor Home Improvements <br />
