5.0 Traffic Distribution <br />155 <br />The proposed generated trips were assigned to the surrounding roadway network. The <br />directional distribution and assignment was based on land uses and population densities <br />in the region and the surrounding roadway network. This distribution also takes into <br />consideration the type and size of units proposed in the subdivision, and anticipates a <br />strong orientation toward Research Triangle Park and other major employers of <br />professionals in the region. The directional distribution used for the analysis for primary <br />(new) trips was as follows: <br />® 50% to /from the east on US 70 Business (toward Durham and RTP) <br />■ 30% to /from the south on NC 86 (toward Chapel Hill and RTP) <br />® 20% to /from the west on US 70 Business (towards Hillsborough) <br />-11- <br />
