It began operation on January 4. <br />As part of the proposal to create the ERCD department, two new <br />positions were planned: an administrative assistant and a land <br />resource conservation manager position. At the January 19, 1999 <br />Board of Commissioners meeting, the Board approved the <br />Administrative Assistant position. <br />This abstract addresses the Land Resources Conservation Manager <br />position. Using a combination of scientific training and land acquisition <br />experience, this position will take the lead in accomplishing the goals <br />of the County's resource acquisition program. This program is to be <br />developed this spring and will involve working to acquire priority areas <br />of important natural resources well as lands for recreational and other <br />purposes. <br />
