F. The term of Faye Suggs on the Carrboro Board of Adjustment <br />has expired. The Carrboro Board of Adjustment recommends that Ms. <br />Suggs be reappointed to a term expiring in October, 1979.. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adopted that Faye Suggs be reappointed to <br />the Carrboro Board of Adjustment to a term expiring in October, 1979. <br />G. The term of Mr. Aallas Alford on the Carrboro Board of Adjust- <br />ment has expired. The Carrboro Board of Aldermen recommends Mr. Alford <br />be reappointed to a term expiring October, 1979. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted that Dallas Alford be reappcihted to <br />the Carrboro Board of Adjustment to a term expiring October, 1979. <br />H. Mr. Norris Ray has resigned from the Carrboro Planning Board. <br />His term expires in September of 1979. The Carrboro Board of Aldermen <br />has made no recommendation for Mr. Ray's replacement. <br />This item was deferred until a later date. <br />I. Ms. Sue Arrington, nominated by Commissioner Whitted to the <br />Recreation Advisory Committee, has resigned. A replacement should be <br />named. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Whitted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted that James Tate of Efland be <br />appointed to replace Ms. Sue Arrington to the Tecreation Advisory <br />Committee . <br />J. Mr. Dan Kensil's term on the Durham-Orange Employment Training <br />Service Council has expired. Mr. Kensil does not desire to continue <br />serving. Mr. J. L. Prystrup has been recommended as a replacement. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adopted that Mr. J. L. Prystrup be named to <br />the Durham-Orange Employment Training Service Advisory Council. <br />K. Mr. Ebert Pierce does not desire to continue serving on the <br />Durham-Orange Employment and Training Service Council. Mrs. Joyce <br />Stanford has been suggested as a replacement. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Walker, it was moved and adopted that Joyce Stanford be appointed as <br />a member of the Durham-Orange Employment Training Advisory Council. <br />L. One consumer should be named to the Durham-Orange Employment <br />Training Service Council. <br />This item was deferred until a later meeting. <br />M. The Board of Commissioners should name one of its members or <br />a designee to serve on the Durham-Orange Employment and Training Ser- <br />vice. At the present time. Chairman Garrett is serving as the local <br />governments representative on this Board. <br />The item was deferred until a later time. ~ <br />The Chairman referred to Item 4: Will the Board of Commissioners <br />request Governor Holshouser petition the President of the United States <br />to declare Orange County a natural disaster area as a result of the pro- <br />longed draught that commended in February of 1976, and is continuing <br />at this .time. <br />The County Manager explained that the Agricultural Stablization <br />and Conservation Committee was the body recommending this action. Tie <br />stated this action would qualify farmers for low interest rate loans. <br />Tha Governor has this year requested the County Commissioners to peti- <br />tion him to take action. This was previously done by the ACS Committee <br />and the Civil Preparedness. <br />
