Discussion continued concerning the Cane Creek project. The Board agreed that there should be a response to the recent meeting with the Orange Water-Sewer Authority as to whether or not the County would build the Cane Creek Reservoir. Commissioner Pinney stated that there were many questions that needed to be answered far the people in Cane Creek area. Commissioner Whitted stated that at this present time, there were no ways of telling what restrictions would be applied in years to come. Chairman Garrett stated that it probably would be good if the County took the initiative to set up a committee of members of the Board, members of the Water-Sewer Authority, and Cane Creek property owners to talk about some of the questions that had been raised. She stated further that after the coming Thursday's night meeting, (Nov. 4, 1976) she felt there would be a formal response form the Authority as to the building of the Cane Creek Reservoir. Commissioner Whitted stated that the County should have a list of questions and concerns which the committee could address. Discussion ensued concerning the County building the Cane Creek Reservoir. Commissioner Whitted stated that he felt that~.if. the County consented to build the reservoir, they should own the land and reservoir 100 percent. The Board instructed the staff to prepare a list of questions and concerns to coordinate with the list which the Commissioners shall prepare. This list should be ready by the next joint meeting with the Water-Sewer Authority. Chairman Garrett stated that she could see the need of knowledgeable source of advise to inform the Commissioners about the best way to manage a reservoir. Chairman Garnett reviewed with the Board the upcoming meeting scheduled. Tuesday, November 9, 1976, a lunch and tour with the ABC Board. Friday, November 5, 1976, a luncheon with Orange-Person-Chatham Mental Health Board at the Pines Restaurant. This meeting is to be with the Orange County members to the Mental Health Board and James Webb, Architect of the Northside Building. The Board scheduled Tuesday, November 9, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. as a work session. This meeting to be at the Municipal Building in Chapel Hi11. Mr. Gattis was requested to contact Mr. Joe Nassif and request him to be present at this meeting. The Board stated that they would like to talk about the Planning Department's Land Use Plan on Tuesday Night. Discussion ensued between the County Manager and members of the Board regarding the survey done by John Stott far Recreation at Seven Mile Creek.
