A. That .4 of a mile of secondary road in the Hideaway Estates <br />Subdivision be added to the State System. <br />B. That Ann Road not be added to the State System until paved. <br />C. That Brigadoon Drive and Dunkeld Way in the Brigadoon Sub- <br />division not be added to the State System. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted that the Board of Commissioners <br />take no action on the recommendations as submitted by the Department <br />of Transportation. The Clerk was informed to. forward this informa- <br />tion to the Department of Transportation. <br />Item 9-A: Mrs. E. M. Lockhart has xesigned as trustee of the <br />Orange County Library. The Library trustees have recommended Mrs. <br />Katherine Seelye be named to fill Mrs. Lockhart's unexpired term. <br />Commissioner Pinney requested that this appointment be delayed <br />one month until after the discussion of the Chapel Hill La.brary Board <br />and the Regional Board. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson stated that he did not see that the dis- <br />cussion between these two boards would affect this appointment and he <br />moved that Katherine Seelye be appointed as a Library Trustee of the <br />Orange County Library. The motion died for lack of a second. <br />Commissioner Pinney moved that this appointment to the Orange <br />County Library Board be tabled until the first Monday in October. <br />Commissioner Walker seconded the motion. The Chairman called for a <br />vote on the motion. <br />Voting aye were Commissioner Garrett, Pinney, and Walker. Voting <br />nay was Commissioner Gustaveson. The motion was declared passed. <br />(Comments of Sandy Davison are not audible from the tape). _ <br />The Commissioners adjourned for lunch. Mr. Walker was not present <br />for the afternoon session of this meeting. <br />The Chairman referred to Item 9-C: One vacancy exists on the <br />Chapel Hill Planning Board. The Board has submitted two names to the <br />Board of Commissioners as possible replacements. Those names are <br />Martin Feinstein and Anne Fleming. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Finney, it was moved and adopted by the three present members that <br />Anne Fleming be appointed to the Chapel Hill Planning Board to fill <br />the unexpired term of the late George Spransy. <br />Item 9-D: The term of Ms. Betty Compton an the Board of the <br />Capital Health Systems Agency expires in December. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted by the three present members that <br />Betty Compton be nominated to the Capital Health System Agency for a <br />three year term and that a letter be sent to the Nominating Committee <br />of the Capital Health System Agency infox'ming them of this action: <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item 15: The Planning Board has <br />-. unanimously approved the following minor subdivision plats: <br />A. Earl Byrd - This plat proposes the division of a three acre <br />parcel from a 75 acre tract. The new parcel fronts on Farrington <br />Road. Chris Edwards from the Planning Staff stated that he saw no <br />problems with this plat. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted that the plat of Earl Byrd be approved. <br />B. Stephen Chappel - This plat proposes the division of a four <br />acre lot from a 24 acre tract. The parcel has adequate frontage on <br />a state maintained road (Whitfield Road). <br />
