MAIN Sr, CARRBORO, NC 27510 <br />(919)969-8268 • FAx(919)969-7218 <br />MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />FIRST STEP SANCTIONS CENTER OF <br />ORANGE AND CHATHAM ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING, INC. <br />AND <br />ORANGE CHATHAM COUNTY PROBATION AND PAROLE SERVICES <br />This memorandum of agreement is between First Step Sanctions Center (FSSC) of <br />Orange-Chatham Alternative Sentencing, Inc.'s and Orange-Chatham County Probation <br />and Parole Services.. This agreement is effective from July 1, 1998 through June 30, <br />1999. The purpose of this memorandum is to outline the procedure used for interfacing <br />services for the clients attending the First Step Sanctions Center. These clients are case <br />managed by the FSSC Coordinator/Clinician and/or Case Manager. <br />Probation/Parole agrees: <br />1. Notify FSSC within 24 hours of new cases as soon as adjudicated. <br />2. Provide a copy of the judgment within 72 hours of sentencing, whenever <br />possible and any other pertinent documentation necessary to facilitate <br />delivery of services. <br />3. Advise FSSC of any violations of probation/parole, including revocation <br />orders, additional sanctions and scheduled court dates. <br />4. Provide FSSC with any positive urinalysis results taken by <br />Probation/Parole Officers prior to and during the offenders' participation <br />in the program. <br />5. Participate in staffing and conferences at FSSC to discuss offenders' <br />treatment plan and/or further sanctions as scheduled. <br />FSSC Staff agrees: <br />1. To obtain all required release of information forms needed to facilitate the <br />exchange of information between agencies. <br />2. To provide access to monitoring logs kept by FSSC staff. <br />3. To make available to Probation the results of drug tests that FSSC <br />performs on clients by phone and/or in writing on the bi-monthly progress <br />reports. <br />4. To notify Probation, in a timely manner, if a client fails to comply and/or <br />participate in the FSSC program. <br />5. To be available to the court to discuss potential clients' appropriateness <br />for FSSC services. <br />This memorandum maybe terminated by either party or by mutual consent of both <br />parties involved, provided that written notice of such intent is given thirty (30) days prior <br />to the effective date of termination. <br />................................................... <br />• LTERNATIVE <br />a program of ENTENCING, nvc <br />116 S.
