Attactn~ent III-A <br />First Step Sanctions Center <br />Job Description <br />Coordinator/Clinician <br />The Coordinator/Clinician of the First Step Sanctions Center of the 15-B <br />District is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program. The <br />Coordinator's duties consist of assessing individuals to determine the appropriate <br />counseling, classes, therapies, and treatment and to provide case management and <br />supervision for Intermediate /Active Structured Sentencing Offenders to assist <br />Adult Probation and Pazole Services with these high need offenders. <br />The primary purpose is to offer a comprehensive approach to the <br />rehabilitation of repeat offenders at locations convenient to probation services in <br />the 15-B District to enhance the services of Adult Probation. The offenders will <br />participate in counseling, therapy, and treatment that will be geared to success <br />with the special conditions of Probation. For substance abusers the time at the <br />FSSC will train them to overcome their drug dependent life styles and /or learn <br />skills to remain in the community as a productive citizen. <br />The Coordinator/Clinician's responsibilities also include supervision of <br />all interns assisting the center in developing and sustaining. the new program. The <br />Coordinator's main objectives aze to: work closely with Adult Probation Services <br />personnel; outline program guidelines and procedures; provide clinical <br />treatment; therapy resources; setup referral protocol; develop a monitoring and <br />tracking system; prepaze brochures and other written materials to assist in the <br />day-to-day operation of the program; maintain communication with the Probation <br />Officers, Criminal Justice Partnership Program for regular program updates and <br />reports; establish successful and unsuccessful termination criteria and outline <br />guidelines for re-entry into the program; provide guidance and support for the <br />treatment team in evaluating clients progress and needs; and to work closely with <br />other community agencies (OPC Mental Health, Vocational Rehabilitation, <br />Literacy Program, Employment Security Commission, Consumer Credit <br />Counseling, and related clinicians) to provide the necessary caze for our clients. <br />The Coordinator/Clinician will lead groups in CognitivaBehavioral Restructuring <br />and substance abuse treatment. Re-evaluation of these program guidelines and <br />procedures aze performed quarterly. The Coordinator/Clinician is supervised by <br />the Director of Orange and Chatham Alternative Sentencing, Inc. (See more <br />details under proportional breakdown of this job.) <br />15 <br />
