Attactn~ent III-A First Step Sanctions Center Job Description Coordinator/Clinician The Coordinator/Clinician of the First Step Sanctions Center of the 15-B District is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program. The Coordinator's duties consist of assessing individuals to determine the appropriate counseling, classes, therapies, and treatment and to provide case management and supervision for Intermediate /Active Structured Sentencing Offenders to assist Adult Probation and Pazole Services with these high need offenders. The primary purpose is to offer a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation of repeat offenders at locations convenient to probation services in the 15-B District to enhance the services of Adult Probation. The offenders will participate in counseling, therapy, and treatment that will be geared to success with the special conditions of Probation. For substance abusers the time at the FSSC will train them to overcome their drug dependent life styles and /or learn skills to remain in the community as a productive citizen. The Coordinator/Clinician's responsibilities also include supervision of all interns assisting the center in developing and sustaining. the new program. The Coordinator's main objectives aze to: work closely with Adult Probation Services personnel; outline program guidelines and procedures; provide clinical treatment; therapy resources; setup referral protocol; develop a monitoring and tracking system; prepaze brochures and other written materials to assist in the day-to-day operation of the program; maintain communication with the Probation Officers, Criminal Justice Partnership Program for regular program updates and reports; establish successful and unsuccessful termination criteria and outline guidelines for re-entry into the program; provide guidance and support for the treatment team in evaluating clients progress and needs; and to work closely with other community agencies (OPC Mental Health, Vocational Rehabilitation, Literacy Program, Employment Security Commission, Consumer Credit Counseling, and related clinicians) to provide the necessary caze for our clients. The Coordinator/Clinician will lead groups in CognitivaBehavioral Restructuring and substance abuse treatment. Re-evaluation of these program guidelines and procedures aze performed quarterly. The Coordinator/Clinician is supervised by the Director of Orange and Chatham Alternative Sentencing, Inc. (See more details under proportional breakdown of this job.) 15
