HUNT JR. <br />GOVERNOR <br />(~ttrolrh¢ <br />PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR'S WEEK <br />1999 <br />BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the services and functions performed by public safety telecommunicators are <br />critical to the safety and welfare of the citizens of North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, public safety telecommunicators provide 24-hour-a-day service as the vital link <br />in the chain of emergency services providers; and <br />WHEREAS, these dedicated professionals are the initial point of contact for citizens <br />in crisis situations who need emergency services assistance. They work long hours answering the <br />public's daily cries for help, and are often instrumental in saving lives and reducing property <br />damage when tragedy strikes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES B. HUNT JR., Governor of the State of North Carolina, <br />do hereby proclaim April I 1-17, 1999, as "PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR'S <br />WEEK" in North Carolina, and urge our citizens to acknowledge the contributions of these loyal <br />public ~°^•°^*c <br />i / <br />JAMES B.
