School Band Issue. <br />The Chairman asked if there were those persons present who wished to <br />be heard an the question of the validity of the "Order Authorizing <br />$6,000,000 School Bonds." <br />No one came forth, either in person or by attorney, to be heard <br />an the question of the validity of said order or the advisability of <br />issuing bonds and the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners and Register <br />of Deeds announced that no written statement relating to said questions <br />had been received. <br />Commissian'er Whitted read the Order Authorizing $5,000,000. School <br />_. Bond. <br />(For copy of Order, see next page) <br />Upson motion of Commissioner Whined, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted that the Order Authorizing <br />$6,000,000. School Bond be approved. <br />The Chairman announced that the Order Authorizing $6,000,000 <br />has been adopted. <br />Commissioner Pinney introduced a resolution which was read. <br />(for copy of Resolution, see next page). <br />Commissioner Pinney moved that the Resolution Calling a Special <br />Bond Referendum be adapted. This motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Gustaveson. <br />The Chairman called for a vote on the motion and all members. of <br />the Board voted aye. The motion was declared passed. <br />The Chairman stated that this concluded the proceedings of the <br />School Bond Public Hearing relative to the $6,000,000 School Bond <br />Issue. <br />Chairman Garrett stated that the next item on the Agenda was <br />a duly called Public Hearing on the Assessment Ro11 for the Paving <br />of State Roads 1711, 1831, 1832, and 1833. <br />The Chairman stated that for the record she would like to inform <br />those present of letters which had been received relative to the paving <br />of the above referred to roads. The Chairman read letters from <br />Sarah R. Feathers, Lena F. Brady, and Thelma M. Wynn. <br />The Chairman then asked if there were those present who would <br />like to speak concerning the Assessment Roll. <br />Various members of the audience spoke in favor of the proceedings <br />for the paving of the roads in the Colonial Hills area. <br />Other members of the audience inquired about the tax map reference <br />(lot number) and the Sudivision lot number. The Chairman stated that <br />the tax map reference and the subdivision lot numbers were not one in <br />the same. That in preparing the Assessment Roll, the County had used <br />the tax map reference. <br />Mr. Eugene Conti questioned the footage on :his property located <br />on State Road 1711 and the footage was changed on the Assessment Roll <br />to 282 feet instead of 330 feet which would make the amount tv be <br />assessed from Mr. Conti $611.94. <br />Bobby Tarlton inquired about what portion of the road he was <br />paying for. Discussion ensued about how the assessment could be paid. <br />The Chairman informed the audience that from the day of publica- <br />tian of the Assessment 13011, owners had 30 days in which to pay their <br />assessment in full without being charged interest. <br />Chairman Garrett called for a motion to adapt the Assessment Roll <br />as adjusted for the Conti property <br />
