sss <br />The County Attorney recommended that this fee schedule be adopted. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whined, it was moved and adopted that the new fee schedule for the land- <br />fill be adopted and same be effective July ]., 1976. ` <br />Y Chairman Garrett referred to Item VI on the Agenda: The Board of <br />Commissioners has been petitioned by Ms. Aileen Ray, Mr. J. B. Rhine <br />and Ms. Louise E. Rhine to create a buffer zone of 50 feet or more <br />along certain areas of the Eno River. <br />The Chairman referred to Agenda Attachment 222. Commissioner <br />Gustaveson suggested that the Board reply to the request and advise <br />Mrs. Ray and Dr. and Mrs. Rhine that proposed amendments were being <br />prepared for the Eno River and its environs and that the Board feels <br />any action at this time would be premature. <br />Stewart Barbour requested permission to speak before the Board <br />and Chairman Garrett granted permission for Mr. Barbour to speak. <br />Discussion ensued concerning the State's plan for the Eno River <br />area. Gommissioner Pinney stated that he felt the Board should write <br />to the State's Park Division and inquire where the County stands in <br />relation to the proposed State Park plans and that copies of the amend- <br />ment to the Zoning Ordinance be forwarded to the State Parks and Recrea- <br />tion Department. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson stated that he felt there were other <br />questions behind this issue in .that the County plans to undertake a <br />planning study for the area and all planning for the State and County <br />should be coordinated. <br />Chairman Garrett stated that she felt the State should work closely <br />with the County Planners and she wanted an answer as to how the State <br />viewed this matter. The Clerk was instructed to draft a letter for <br />presentation to the Board at their next meeting. <br />There being no further business to came before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned. <br />FLORA R. GARRETT, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTX BOARD OF COMMISSIONER5 <br />July 20, 1976 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br />on Tuesday, July 20, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Room of <br />the Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />Members present were Chairman Flora Garrett, Commissioner Norman <br />Gustaveson, Jan Pinney, Norman Walker and Richard Whitted. <br />Members absent were none. <br />Others present were A. B. Coleman, Jr., County Attorney, and <br />Betty June Hayes, Glark to the Board. <br />Chairman Garrett read a copy of a letter that had been written <br />by the Clerk to Ronald Johnson, Director of the Division of Parks <br />and Recreation. The Board authorized Mrs. Garrett to sign said letter. <br />Discussion ensued between the Board and Mrs. Josephine Barbour. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted that the Berard accept the letter as <br />written and that the Clerk forward copies to Thomas Ellis, Superintendent, <br />Division of Parks and Recreation, George Little, David Adams, and Stephen <br />G. Conrad, all with the Department of Natural and Economic Resources. <br />
