457 <br />Discussion ensued concerning the reconstituting of the Orange <br />Water-Sewer Authority. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved for the adoption of a Resolution <br />authorizing the Publication of another Public Hearing on the Pro- <br />posed amendment on the Reorganization of the Orange Water-Sewer <br />Authority. <br />Commissioner Whitted seconded this motion. <br />Discussion ensued and Commissioner Gustaveson called far the <br />question. <br />The Chairman called for the vote. <br />Voting aye 'were Commissioners Garrett, Gustaveson, Walker and <br />Whitted. <br />Voting nay was Commissioner Pinney. <br />Chairman Garrett declared the motion passed. <br />(For copy of Resolution see Minute Docket Book Nine, Page 612 ). <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned. <br />~~C~v10. <br />Flora R. Garrett, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />MINUTES <br />ORATdGE COUTdTX BOARD OF COi4TiISST_ONERS <br />Thursday, June 10, 1976 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session <br />on Thursday, June 10, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioners room <br />at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, to discuss the budgets of the <br />Health Department and the Orange-Person-Chatham Mental Health Center. <br />Members present were Chairman Flora Garrett, Commissioners <br />Norman Gustaveson, Jan Pinney, Richard Whitted and Norman Walker. <br />Members absen*_ were none. <br />Others present were S. P•I. Gattis, County Administrator; Neal <br />Evans, Finance Officer; and Agatha Johnsonr Acting Clerk. <br />The Board of Commissioners discussed briefly a new mandate <br />issued recently by the State which reduced substancially Title XX <br />funds appropriated to Orange County. The Board was told that the <br />Social Service Beard would meet on Friday to discuss the matter and <br />perhaps would provide the Commissioners with a recommendation. <br />Chairman Garrett recognized Dr. Corp Don Fuller, District <br />Health Director, and Dr. Fuller presented to the Board a line item <br />budget request. Dr, rullPr stated that the budget request had not <br />changed and he was using the same figures as were used last year <br />except for a requested increase in salaries which the State had <br />dictated. <br />Dr. Fuller spoke of the attempt to build relations between the <br />University and the District Health Department, particularly in the <br />Nursing Program, School of Public Health, Family nurse PractitEioner <br />and training, the Nutrition Program within the District and in the <br />School of Health Educators. Dr. Fuller stated that it w.as the <br />Health Department's desire to provide continuing education far staff <br />members, especially the nurses. <br />
