Compensation. <br />The~golicy for the county is to pay compensation which is competitive <br />with local rates for the work performed, sv that the compensaticn does <br />not create a barrier to the recruitment of minority applicants. <br />Opportunities far performing overtime work or otherwise increasing com- <br />pensation will be afforded to all qualified employees without discrimina <br />tion based an age, sex, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, <br />or physical handicap. It is the policy of the county to pay all <br />employees on the basis of job classification, experience and ability. <br />Sec. 9. Equal employment Notices. <br />Notices with regard to equal employment matters will be posted in con- <br />spicuous placed on county government premises, in places where notices <br />are customarily posted. <br />Sec. 10. Promotion and Employee Development. <br />(a) Employees will be provided every reasonable means to succeed <br />on their jobs and will be given opportunities to prepare them- <br />selves for full use of thea.r talents and potential. On-the-jo <br />training will be provided to prepare employees to meet the fur <br />requirements of their new jobs. <br />_ (b) Candidates for promotion will be chose on the basis of existin~ <br />ar forecasted job openings, on their qualifications, and on <br />their work records--without regard to age, sex, race, color, <br />creed, religion, national origin, or physical handicap. Per- <br />. formance appraisals and work records for all personnel, includ <br />ing minority groups, will be carefully examined when openings <br />for higher--level positions occur. <br />
