:.. 4~~ <br />Voting aye were Commissioners Garrett, Gustaveson, Pinney, <br />Walker, and Whitted. <br />The motion was declared passed. <br />The Chairman stated to the residents that the property owner's <br />signatures must be verified and the Tax Office would do that at the. <br />same time that the residents were having their roads surveyed.. <br />The Chairman thanked the citizens far coming. <br />The meeting was then adjourned to the Commissioners Room. <br />The Chairman referred to Item T - Persons not on the Agenda <br />having business to transact with the Board should make their pr.e- <br />sense known. No one came forth. <br />Chairman Garrett stated that she had been given the written <br />information regarding the "Coat of Arms of the House of Orange" <br />prepared by Mrs. Jones. This was given to the Clerk to be entered <br />into the official minutes. <br />(F'OR SEAL INFORMATION, SEE MINUTE DOCKET BOOK NINE, PAGE ). <br />The Chairman referred to Item II -Approval of Minutes. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adopted that the Minutes of April 14, April <br />21, April 29, and May 6 of the Board of Equalization and Review be <br />approved. <br />The minutes of May 3 were reviewed. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded ay Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adopted that the minutes of May 3 be <br />approved. <br />The minutes of May 6 were reviewed. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adapted that the minutes of May 6 be <br />approved. <br />The Chairman referred to Item III - Adoption of a resolution <br />asking residents of Cedar Grove Township to participate in a blood <br />pressure testing program. <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE IN <br />CEDAR GROVE TOWNSHIP <br />"WHEREAS, The School of Public Health at the University of North <br />Carolina is desirous of studying high blood pressure <br />and the drugs prescribed for it in a rural community;and <br />WHEREAS, This study will be the first rural study of high blood <br />pressure; and <br />WHEREAS, High blood pressure is a major killing and crippling <br />disease; and <br />WHEREAS, Area physicians and pharamacists have been informed <br />and/or cooperating with the study <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT <br />'Phe Orange County Board of Commissioners endorse the _ <br />High Blood Pressure Study and request all rgsidents <br />of the Cedar Grove and surrounding areas of Orange <br />County to participate in the study by allowing them- <br />selves to be interviewed in their homes during the <br />months of June, July, and August of 1976." <br />Adopted this the 18th day of May, 1976. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gustaveson, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Whitted, it was moved and adopted to approve the resolution <br />requesting the residents of the Cedar Grove Township to participate <br />in the blood pressure testing. program. <br />
