3 <br />CTP Process Timeline <br />Develop CTP Vision: Completed using goals and objectives of the <br />~ Establish Community Vision recently adopted Comprehensive Plan <br />~ Conduct Goals & Objectives Survey Transportation Element, which was developed <br /> with public involvement <br />Conduct needs assessment: July -September 2009 <br />~ Collect & project data Data collected-for 2035 LRTP. NCDOT to <br /> collect additional data for Orange County and <br /> <br />~ Analyze deficiencies refine model for Orange County <br /> NCDOT to produce deficiency analysis <br />~ Endorse data & projections NCDOT presentation to BOCC in August or <br /> September; <br /> Public workshop to inform of CTP process and <br /> solicit in ut. <br />Develop alternatives October 2009-January 2010 <br />~ Highway The OUTBoard will coordinate with pertinent <br />~ Public Transportation advisory boards and consider public comment <br />~ Bicycle from the public workshop to develop <br />~ Pedestrian alternatives. <br />Develop Recommended Plan February -April 2010 <br /> Present to Advisory Boards for comment <br /> Hold Public workshop <br /> Present to BOCC for comment <br />Develop final plan May 2010 <br />Endorse/Adopt final plan June 2010 <br />~ Orange County adopts CTP <br />~ DCHC MPO adopts CTP for area within <br />MPO and endorses CTP (area outside <br />MPO) <br />~ TARPO endorses CTP (outside MPO) <br />~ NCDOT adopts CTP and DCHC MPO CTP <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact to the County for developing the multi-modal <br />comprehensive transportation plan. All work can be completed with existing planning staff and <br />resources specifically the Comprehensive Planning division of the Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the Resolution <br />endorsing a comprehensive transportation planning study for Orange County with the <br />participation of staff and the OUTBoard to assist NCDOT with the comprehensive transportation <br />planning process. <br />
