6 <br />1 Commissioner Jacobs read the proclamation. <br />2 <br />3 PROCLAMATION <br />4 COUNTY CLERKS WEK <br />5 MAY 3 THROUGH MAY 9, 2009 <br />6 <br />7 WHEREAS, The Office of the County Clerk, a time honored and vital part of local government <br />8 exists throughout the world; and <br />9 <br />10 WHEREAS, The Office of the County Clerk is the oldest among public servants; and <br />11 <br />12 WHEREAS, The Office of the County Clerk provides the professional link between the <br />13 residents, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels; and <br />14 <br />15 WHEREAS, County Clerks have pledged to be ever mindful of their neutrality and impartiality, <br />16 rendering equal service to all; and <br />17 <br />18 WHEREAS, The County Clerk serves as the information center on functions of local <br />19 government and community; and <br />20 <br />21 WHEREAS, County Clerks continually strive to improve the administration of the affairs of the <br />22 Office of the County Clerk by serving countless hours beyond the normal business day working <br />23 a multitude of night and weekend meetings; and <br />24 <br />25 WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that we recognize the accomplishments of the Office of the <br />26 County Clerk; <br />27 <br />28 NOW, THEREFORE, We, The Orange County Board of Commissioners do recognize the week <br />29 of May 3 through May 9, 2009 as County Clerks Week and further extend appreciation to our <br />30 County Clerk, Donna Baker, and to all County Clerks for the vital services they perform and <br />31 their exemplary dedication to the communities they represent. <br />32 <br />33 This, the 5'h day of May, 2009. <br />34 <br />35 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Chair Foushee to approve <br />36 the proclamation. <br />37 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />38 <br />39 <br />40 4. Consent Agenda <br />41 A motion was made by Commissioner Pellisier, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to <br />42 approve those items on the consent agenda as stated below: <br />43 <br />44 a.
