Economic Impact Study (Tripp Umbach) <br />The Tripp Umbach firm was retained by the University of North Carolina Hospitals (UNCH) to <br />conduct an economic impact study of expanding the hospital system to a new campus in <br />Hillsborough, NC. Some preliminary findings of the impact of this facility by 2013 are: <br />➢ Total employment impact from hospital operations is anticipated to generate a total of 1,893 jobs annually <br />➢ Projected total staff at this facility is anticipated to be 581 people of which 266 will be new hires in 2013 <br />➢ Construction is anticipated to generate 2,537 direct and indirect jobs <br />➢ Construction is anticipated to have an impact of $33.6 million in the local economy <br />➢ Town & County government entities are anticipated to receive $1.1 million in annual local revenues <br />
