Roger', CETA Director
SUBJECT: JOCCA's Request for Additional Funds
,.DATE: October 5, 1979
I have reviewed JOCCA°s proposal for a "Employment and
Training Opportunities Program."
I understand that JOCCA is in the process of soliciting
CETA and possibly other fiords from the State for the proposal.
From my initial reading it appears that the project would
provide valuable community benefits as well as additional employ-
ment and training opportunities for unemployed and disadvantaged
citizens.
Since JOCCA is attempting to secure discretionary CETA funds,
I do not believe the County's support of the proposal would
jeapordize direct CETA funding which we are receiving or might
receive.
Our local CETA program has provided support for JOCCA
weatherization for some time; but, as you !mow, we do not
have funds to expand this support at this time, If the State
will grant additional funds for JOCCA's proposal, State officials
will have the option of contracting directly with JOCCA or con-
tracting with Orange County for sub-contract to JOCCA.
I will keep you informed of any new developments. If I can
be of further assistance, please contact me.
cc: Joe Bradshaw
ddm
an equal opportunity/full potential employer
