Z9~ .. - <br />"Whereas the Orange County Hoard of Commissioner herein called <br />the "Applicant" has thoroughly considered the problem addressed <br />in the subgrant application entitled Orange Co. Sheriff's Dept. <br />Recorder and has reviewed the project described in the application; <br />and <br />Whereas under the terms of Publie Law 90-351 as amended, the <br />United States of America has authorized the Law Enforcement Assistance <br />Administration, through the North Carolina Division of Law and Order <br />to make federal grants to assist local governments in the improvement <br />of the criminal justice system, <br />Now .therefore be it resolved by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners in open meeting assembled in the city of -. <br />North Carolina, this---Day of 197 as follows: <br />1. That the project referenced above is in the best interest of <br />the Applicant and the general public. <br />2. That be authorized to file, in behalf . <br />of the App scan an app zca ion in the form prescribed by the <br />Division of Law and Order for a subgrant in the amount of $11,583.00 <br />to be made to the Applicant to assist in defraying the cost of the project <br />described in the application. This individual shall act as the <br />authorized representative of the Applicant in connection with all <br />aspects of the application process. <br />That if the subgrant is made, the Applicant `aha11 provide or <br />make arrangements to provide, a local cash matching contribution <br />in the amount of X01+3.00 and s local in-kind matching contribution <br />valued under LEAA guidelines at (or proportionately <br />reduced local matching contributions i e subgrant amount is <br />reduced) as required by the Act to defray the cost of the project. <br />1{-. That the Project Director designated in the application <br />form shall furnish or make arrangements for other appropriate <br />persons to furnish such information, data, documents and reports <br />pertaining to the project, if approved, as may be required by the <br />Division of Law and Order. <br />5. That certified copies of this=.resolution-be included-as part.•of <br />the application referenced above. <br />6. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon <br />its adoption. <br />Done and ordered in open meeting." <br />The Chairman referred to Item X20 on the Agenda: Wil the <br />Board of Commissioners approve Orange County becoming a member <br />of the Triangle Commission for Criminal Justice for the fiscal <br />year 1975-1976. Cost of this membership is approximately $1,300. <br />Discussion ensued concerning Orange County participation in <br />the Triangle Commission on Criminal Justice. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted, it was moved and adopted that the Board approve $1,300. <br />to the Sheriff's Department for the purpose of affiliating Orange <br />County with the Triangle Commission on Criminal Justice. This appro- <br />priation to be taken from the Contingence Fund. <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item #I8 on the Agenda: A <br />Memorandum dealing with the disposal of s house on Margaret Lane <br />was included in the material you received along with your Agenda. <br />would like to dispose of this house to the best bidder as soon as <br />practical. <br />Discussion ensued. Upon motion of Commissioner Whitted, <br />seconded by Commissioner Pinney, it was moved and adopted that the <br />Board accept the County Manager's recommendation relative to the <br />disposal of the house on Margaret Lane. <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item #12-D: Budget Amendments. <br />The Finance Director presented prepared Budget Amendments to <br />the Board, These items were reviewed. <br />
