~ !95 <br />Hal Minis of the Planning Department stated that an investiga- <br />tion of the Alamance County 201 Study showed that the 201 Project <br />for that County would have little or no effect on Orange County, <br />therefore, he saw no reason for Orange County not to adopt the <br />Alamance County 201 Resolution. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved that the Resolution entitled "A Resolution <br />Adopting a 201 Facilities Plan for the Alamance County Complex. <br />Alamance County, North Carolina", be adopted. <br />"WHEREAS, The Cities of Burlington and Graham; the Towns of <br />Gibsonville, Elon College, Haw River, and Mebane; ~ . <br />and the Counties of Guilford, Alamance and Orange <br />have jointly undertaken a commitment to develop a <br />201 Facilities Plan for the Alamance County Complex <br />Planning Ax'ea; <br />AND <br />WHEREAS, The City of Burlington was selected to act as the <br />'Lead Agency' in the development of a 201 Vacilities <br />Plan; <br />AND <br />WHEREAS, A 201 Facilities Plan has been prepared pursuant to <br />P. L. 92-500 (Water Pollution Control Act Amendments <br />of 1972) by Alley, Williams, Carmen, and King, Inc.; <br />and submitted to the 'Lead Agency;' <br />AND <br />WHEREAS, A formal Public Hearing was held by the 'Lead Agency' <br />on September 18, 1975, in the Superior Court Room, <br />Alamance County Courthouse, in Graham, North Carolina; <br />pursuant to P.L. 92-500; <br />AND <br />WHEREAS, Comments made: at the Public Hearing have subsequently <br />been addressed; <br />AND - <br />WHEREAS, After due consideration by the public and the govern- <br />ing body of the County of Orange, it is deemed to be <br />in the best interest of said County of Orange to adopt <br />the provisions of said Facilities Plan and to imple- <br />ment said plan as seon as feasible; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BX THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE <br />County of Orange that the 201 Facilities Plan for the <br />Alamance County Complex Planning Area heretofore sub- <br />mitted to the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />and it hereby is accepted and adopted. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of January, 1976." <br />Item #1 was the next item introduced for discussion: <br />Consideration of a possible settlement of the case pending before <br />the Property Tax Commission between the Order of the Gimghouls <br />and Orange County. <br />"At the January meeting of the Board of Commissioners, the <br />Tax Supervisor reviewed with the Commissioners a possible <br />basis for compromise of the case before the Property Tax <br />Commission involving the Order of the Gimghouls and <br />Orange County. Since that time, the trustee for the `- <br />Gimghouls has agreed to this proposal.
