The number of STPs shall be of the Contractor's choosing, <br />but should be sufficient to determine the cultural and archaeological significance of the <br />sites}including their eligibilityforthe National Register of Flistvric Places and to <br />document the sites}with state survey forms and cemetery forms as appropriate of all <br />above ground structures, including burial grounds or cemeteries. <br />C. field Reconnaissance for Remainder of Park Property Area 3~ <br />A limited field investigation should be conducted far the rest vfthe park property where <br />no construction is planned other than trails and other passive activities shown as Area <br />3 on the Areas for .valuation Map}. The Contractor shall use the field recannaissance <br />to identify any areas that appear to be worthy of further investigation and to report such <br />information to Orange County FRCD. The Contractor shall document any sites <br />discovered during the fell recannaissance using state site and cemetery farms as <br />appropriate of ail above ground structures, including burial grounds or cemeteries. The <br />field methods and techniques used shall be of the Contractor's choosing, but should <br />reflect a thorough working knowledge of contemporary archaeological methods and <br />techniques and shall include an evaluation afthe eligibility of all sites forthe National <br />Register of Historic Places. <br />The field investigation shall be of a nature sufficient to accomplish the following goals. <br />~} Make recommendations on the potential need forfurther survey, <br />2} Locate and identify sites that may have archaeological or historic significance, and <br />3} valuate the archaeological significance of any such sites. <br />Based on this limited field investigation, the C~SA and the ~rang~e County FRCD wi!! <br />discuss with the Contractor whether there are areas that may warrant a more intensr"ve <br />surface and subsurface r"r~vestr"gatr'on. For instance, once specific locations are <br />determr'ned for construction of park facilitr'es, we may decide to follow up this project <br />with a Phase ~ or 3 Cultural Resources Survey for areas of the property that have been <br />identified as potentially significant. Contract pricing far this will be negotiated with the <br />successful bidder in the eventuality the work is ordered. <br />D. Reporting of Results <br />The Contractor shat[ give regular obi-weekly} verbal reports to the SSA and the grange <br />County FRCD during the course of the project. <br />1 } interim Project Re ort <br />Afterthe completion ofthe fieldwork, the contractor shall prepare and submit a <br />brief interim Project Report on the activities to date to the SSA and the grange <br />County ~RCD.
